College Campus Visits

Let a Campus Visit Help Make Your College Selection Easier

Scott’s father was career Air Force, so he grew up surrounded by military jargon. One of the sayings that sticks in his mind is “Your enemy is never going to surrender until you park your tank on his front lawn.” What in the world do tanks have to do with college visits you ask? Quite a bit.

Nothing is quite as helpful as putting your feet on the lawn at the colleges in which you are interested. The Internet provides us with a great deal of information over long distances but that does not replace hands on experience. Go park yourself on the lawn of the colleges you’re interested in and you may find your decision of where to go could be an easy one.

Scott tells his own story as a case in point. “I remember when I was transferring out of the University of Iowa between my sophomore and junior years of college. I had narrowed down my choices between two colleges in Florida. My family decided to make a vacation of it and we headed south. Both colleges looked very appealing on paper, but when I put my feet on campus, it became very clear which one was the right fit.”

Plan now to get your feet on the ground at a number of different colleges and universities. You’ll be glad you did when it comes time to make a decision.
