So You Think Your College Education Starts When You Get to School?
We’ve probably all heard about the anxiety students and their families go through after you’ve completed the admissions applications and sent them off in the mail. Day one – go to the mailbox… nothing. Day three – go to the mailbox… nothing. Day six – go to the mailbox… nothing. Day fourteen – go to the mailbox… nothing. Day twenty – go to the mailbox… nothing. Before you give the college a call, stop. Take a breath. Watch this video. It will give you an idea of how much mail an actual university receives during admissions applications time.
This part of the college application process is what is often referred to as a "character building experience". In simple terms, you get to learn patience. Ugh.
But don't worry. The college responses will come. And when a response shows up in your mailbox, it will be one of three things:
1. Congratulations – you’re in!
2. Sorry – but good luck.
3. You’ve been wait-listed, we’ll get back to you.
