"It was in 2003 when I met the Harrisons. The husband was a farmer, and the wife was a school teacher. They came to one of my workshops, and I met them for a meeting shortly thereafter. I gathered their financial and student information, then went to work putting a plan together for them. When I presented my plant to them the following week, I was not prepared for what happened next. Tears were coming to the eyes of both parents. I stopped my presentation and asked if there was anything wrong. Their next words rocked my world.
The wife told me, “Scott, we haven’t told the girls yet, but my husband was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis several months ago. The crops in the ground are probably the last crops he will ever plant, and we just had no idea how we were going to pay for college. What you have shown us here is like a miracle.”
It was at that time when I realized I have the best job in the world."
